Bryan Thomas Reuther, PsyD, PhD

Dr. Reuther provides psychotherapy, existential-humanistic consultation, independent medical psychological examinations for pension disability claims, and fitness-for-duty evaluations. His clinical work draws from cognitive-behavioral, contextual, psychodynamic, and existential-humanistic approaches, with particular expertise in trauma and PTSD. He is also Professor and Chair of Human Services at Indian River State College in Fort Pierce, Florida, where he teaches in the Human Services, Psychology, and Philosophy departments.

With over a decade of experience in the assessment and treatment of trauma and PTSD, Dr. Reuther brings an integrated perspective shaped by clinical practice, philosophical scholarship, and applied teaching. Having grown up in a law enforcement family, he also brings a distinctive understanding of trauma and PTSD in first responder populations.

Dr. Reuther earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Criminal Justice from the University of Central Florida, as well as a Master of Science and Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Nova Southeastern University, where he specialized in trauma psychology. He also holds a PhD in Philosophy from the University of Essex in the United Kingdom, where his work focused on clinical phenomenology, existentialism, and the philosophy of psychology. He has published in the American Psychological Association’s Handbook of Trauma, the Encyclopedia of Trauma: An Interdisciplinary Guide, and the Journal of Theoretical and Philosophical Psychology.
