Giovanna Basilio, PsyD

Dr. Giovanna Basilio is a bilingual (English/Spanish) licensed clinical psychologist specializing in psychological, forensic, and neuropsychological evaluation. Her work is grounded in careful clinical judgment, cultural sensitivity, and a commitment to producing clear and well-supported findings that inform meaningful decision-making. Dr. Basilio earned her Doctor of Psychology (PsyD) in Clinical Psychology with a concentration in forensic psychology from Nova Southeastern University in South Florida. She completed her doctoral internship with the Colorado Psychology Internship Consortium, an APA-accredited training site, where she received advanced training across diverse clinical settings, including work with rural and underserved populations. She later completed postdoctoral training in clinical neuropsychology at The Neurology Institute, with a focus on cognitive assessment and brain-behavior relationships.

Dr. Basilio’s clinical experience spans correctional, community-based, and healthcare settings, including work with adolescents, adults, and older adults. She has trained and practiced in environments such as detention centers, public health systems, and outpatient medical settings, providing her with a broad understanding of complex clinical and forensic presentations. Dr. Basilio has also contributed to the development of competency restoration programs in Broward and Palm Beach Counties, reflecting her involvement in the intersection of mental health and the legal system. Dr. Basilio’s areas of specialization include comprehensive psychological and neuropsychological evaluations, forensic assessments, and trauma-informed clinical work. She has particular expertise in the evaluation of trauma-related conditions, cognitive functioning, and complex diagnostic presentations, as well as immigration-related psychological evaluations. Her approach integrates clinical, cultural, and contextual factors to ensure that each evaluation reflects the full scope of an individual’s experience. She is also the author of a Springer publication addressing cultural considerations in the assessment of sex trafficking.
